I’m Brock – a qualified naturopathic clinician and strongman. My approach is built for straight-talking hard working individuals and amateur or retired athletes that want to build real functional strength to stay strong, pain-free as they age.

I’m a certified naturopath and the 3rd Strongest Natural (no roids) under 90kg Man in Australia and New Zealand.

I’ve spent years building strength, recovering from injuries and staying in top form, even as life’s demands keep piling up.

I get it—when you’re working tough jobs and pushing your body to its limits, it’s bloody hard to find the balance. I’ve been there myself, and I’ve helped heaps of tradies, labourers, and other hardworking legends do the same.

My Story

I have struggled with staying at a healthy weight for most of my life. Firstly, I was an overweight kid eating all the wrong foods. Second, over half my family either passed away to cancer or had serious medical complications including Cardiovascular Disease, Diabetes and several Autoimmune conditions.

I was brought up on a highly processed Western diet and this often led to recurrent ear infections which required many repeated bouts of antibiotics over a long period of time. This led to an imbalance of gut bacteria and feelings of gassiness and bloating all the way throughout school. Upon graduating high school, I weighed 120kg/264lbs, was having recurrent bouts of heartburn, indigestion and stomach aches on a daily basis. By the time I had reached 20, I realised my quality of life was going downhill fast, so I decided no more!

I made a conscious decision to make a change for good! But I had no idea where to start. I decided exercise was a good place to start, and began to increase my activity level, but this only took me so far. It was at this early stage in my weight-loss journey I came to a realisation that my body was not enjoying the foods I was giving it. My body wasn't enjoying the lifestyle of drinking and partying every weekend; it was then when I had a second massive realisation. I would need to change the lifestyle I was living if I wanted to continue to lose weight and become a healthier person.

Thus began an ultimate 10 year journey.

First, I entered the fitness industry as a personal trainer and discovered that it's not all what it's cracked up to be. I worked in and out of gyms for the first couple of years and was witness to some horrifying things. Bad dieting advice and making promises of ‘guaranteed weight loss’ are all too common in our secretive fitness and wellbeing industry. As you may or may not be aware, there are several toxic elements of the fitness industry, one of which is crash dieting culture. This culture prescribes an orthorexic approach to dieting, often ensuring nutritional deficiencies commonly occur in people that attempt it. This makes it an unsustainable approach, regularly leading to clients gaining the weight back and/or experiencing other health issues down the track.

So I began to do my own research by trying every diet out there! I wanted to discover what was best for me, and whether I could still eat yummy foods but also have a healthy body? I tried the Paleo diet, the Pescatarian diet, the Keto diet, the Vegetarian diet and the Vegan diet, just to name a few! By doing this I gained some reliable first-hand experience of how each of these diets affect the body, the mind and most importantly us as a whole human being.

It wasn’t until midway through my 20’s I discovered that some of the nations that have the lowest incidence of obesity and diabetes are in South-East Asia. This took me to 3 different countries, and 11 different cities to see how these people live, produce food and eat differently from the Western world. I learned so much and would love to share my many secrets with you!

The experience and knowledge I have gained over the last decade, in addition to the completion of my Bachelor of Health Science degree, where I acquired expertise in Herbal medicine, Nutritional medicine, Myotherapy and lifestyle-based disease prevention, has given me the confidence to successfully help others to regain a healthier and more enjoyable life.
